Connection issues with Samsung earbuds #3

Connection issues with Samsung earbuds

If your phone cannot connect to one or both of your Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Buds Pro, or Gear IconX earbuds, getting them to connect again will only take a couple of steps. Performing a restart on the earbuds, resetting the Bluetooth connection, or updating the Galaxy Wearable app will normally fix the issue.

Prepare your device and update the Samsung earbuds

    1. Exit any software that may be running and restart the device.

Exit apps or software that may be running, and then restart the device the earbuds are connected to (such as a phone, tablet, TV, or computer) by powering it off and back on again.

    2. Check for updates for your connected device.

It may be necessary to update the software on your connected device before updating the earbuds.

        • Galaxy phone or tablet: From Settings, swipe to and select Software update or System update. Then, tap Download and install.

      • iOS phone or tablet: From Settings, tap General, and then tap Software Update. Tap Download and Install. Follow any additional instructions on the device.
      • Computer: Updating methods will vary, depending on the operating system of your computer. You can visit Chromebook, Mac, or Windows support pages for specific details.
      • TV: You can update the software on your TV with the internet. On your TV, navigate to Settings, select Support, and then select Software Update. Select Auto Update to turn on automatic updates, or select Update Now to download updates.
    3. Check for updates to the app or software used to update the earbuds.

After updating your connected device, try updating either the Galaxy Wearable app or the PC Manager software.

      • Galaxy Wearable: Open the app and navigate to and tap About Galaxy Wearable or About Samsung Gear app. It may be necessary to tap Menu (the three horizontal lines) first. Then, tap Update.
      • Galaxy Buds Manager when using Galaxy Buds: Open the app, select About PC program, and then select Update.
      • Galaxy Buds Manager when using Galaxy Buds+: Open the app, select Check for updates, and then select Download and Install.
      • Samsung Galaxy Buds app on an iPhone: Check for updates in the App Store.
      • Gear IconX Manager: Open the app, select More options, and then select Update.

The original Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Pro are not compatible with the iOS Buds app.

  1. Update your earbuds.

There are a few different ways to update your earbuds, whether you are doing it through an app or on the computer.

    • Galaxy Wearable: Open the app when your earbuds are paired, then tap Earbuds settings, and then tap Earbuds software update. Tap Download and install.
    • Galaxy Buds Manager and Gear IconX Manager: Open the app, and then select Connect to pair your earbuds. Select your earbuds, and then select Check for updates.
    • Samsung Galaxy Buds app on an iPhone: Open the app when your earbuds are paired, and then tap Earbuds software update. Tap Download and install.
  2. Request service.

If you're unable to update one or both earbuds, service is required. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG to request service.
